The Log

One thread through the whole house.

Every entry answers three questions, and they never get mixed up.

The Log, with entries grouped by month, each showing its asset, its date and any cost.
  • Source

    How the entry got here.

You wrote it, a task was completed, or a field changed. Logis writes its own entries alongside yours, and it always says which is which.

  • Kind

    What it is about.

Work done for the asset, or something that happened to it. A recall notice, an expiring warranty and a near miss all belong to the second kind without being disasters.

  • Status

    Whether anyone vouches for it.

An entry Logis assumed, because a booked service came due, is labelled Auto logged until you confirm it. Confirming drops the label, because the row becomes an ordinary entry.

A month in the Log where repeated visits from one lawn care provider collapse into a single row with a count and a running total.

A long log stays readable.

Entries group by month, newest first. When one provider visits the same home more than once in a month, those visits collapse into a single row with the count and the total, counted on the server, so a long log never under-reports.
